Cliiking Together Communities: Celebrating Black History and Diversity in North Stonehouse

Progress Update March 2025

Cliik Community is delighted to provide an update on our “Cliiking Together Communities” project, an initiative made possible thanks to funding from A2Dominion, specifically to celebrate Black History and foster ongoing awareness throughout the year, not just in October.

Our Mission:

With A2Dominion’s support, we aim to ensure that the rich tapestry of Black History and the diverse experiences of our BAME community are recognised and celebrated year-round in North Stonehouse.

What We’ve Achieved:

  • Family Fun Day in Patna Park: Our planned “Community Picnic” blossomed into a vibrant Family Fun Day, held in Patna Park. This event successfully brought together residents from diverse backgrounds, creating an afternoon of shared joy and community connection. This was a wonderful first step in creating a space for celebration of Black History and diversity.
  • We have been working hard to reach out to the BAME communities in the neighbourhood to engage with the upcoming activities.

Ongoing Activities:

  • We are actively developing the Photography Exhibition at The Talk Shop, showcasing the lived experiences of local BAME residents, particularly those of African and Caribbean heritage. This exhibition will serve as a powerful visual narrative, highlighting the ongoing contributions of our Black community.
  • We are also preparing for the Conversation Event, a crucial platform for community members to share their perspectives and ideas on fostering inclusivity and continued awareness of Black History throughout the year.

Looking Ahead:

We are committed to completing the photography exhibition and the community conversation event in 2025. This extended timeline will allow us to deepen our engagement with the community and ensure that these activities are both meaningful and impactful. A2Dominion’s ambition to maintain awareness of Black History throughout the year is at the core of our ongoing work.

Our Commitment:

Cliik Community, with the support of A2Dominion, is dedicated to building a more inclusive and understanding community in North Stonehouse. We are proud of the connections we’ve made and are excited to continue this important work.
