A showcase of 3 female contemporary artists, based locally to each other in Stonehouse. Exploring individual viewpoints on themes of nature, nostalgia and place.

Zuleika Fray
Zuleika Fray paints the complexities of the multifaceted inner landscapes of the self. Raw, fragmented and immersive, through the playful layering of texture, earthy limited colours, and abstract form. A multi-disciplinary artist, using both photography and painting. The transient nature of memory as it surfaces and fades, playing with nostalgia, always in motion.

Heather Knight
Heather Knight is an artist and educator. Her art is inspired by the beautiful, wild moors, woods, and coast of Devon and Cornwall. Heather works with both acrylics and oil paint to capture the feeling and movement of the landscapes. With a background in education and community work, she is passionate about the personal, social and community benefits of the arts.

Erica Luke
Erica Luke is a visual artist creating mixed media pieces often inspired by nature, place and memories. Through abstraction and heightened colours, she aims to capture the essence of the scene and the feelings experienced within that environment. The foundation of her artistic practice are her sketchbooks which she uses to record her observations of the landscape and people.

‘Love Stonehouse’

‘Love Stonehouse’ – An exhibition of 40 photographs where people share their love for the community where we live, Stonehouse.
At the recent Union Street Party in September, we asked 40 people to write a simple word or message sharing some thing that they love or appreciate about the neighbourhood where we live and work. The answers speak for themselves – the diversity, creativity and community spirit of the people and local organisations makes Stonehouse the true heart of Plymouth.
The exhibition of 40 portrait photographs taken by Arnet Donkin, highlights the diversity of our community, the importance of fostering a sense of ‘belonging’, a neighbourhood that has a thriving grassroots movement of energy and activism.
