Journeys in Colour
Erica Luke
“Journeys in Colour” showcases paintings derived from two years of sketchbook observations. I developed the compositions through repeated translations: sketchbook to gel prints to paintings. This process simplified forms and intensified colours, moving from reality to personal memory. I invite you to explore the sketchbooks and the evolution of these works, inspiring reflection on your own creative journeys.

Exhibition
Richard Webb
This exhibition brings together a series of works on paper, taking inspiration from observational drawings collected in my sketchbooks over the past two years.
These pieces explore moments that remain both precious to me and ordinary, ranging from fleeting observations during walks and travels to memories reimagined. Each work aims to convey a personal interpretation of the place and my unique connection to that moment, utilising vibrant colour palettes and expressive, textured mark-making.

We Learnt To Fly
Red
I decided to be an artist when I was about two years old, and make art most days. I have been developing a collection of paintings called “We Learnt to Fly” over the last decade. These paintings have documented my recovery from domestic abuse and led to Arts Council England funding to travel to and work in Mexico City, the home of my heroine, Frida Kahlo. Most recently, I began a collection reflecting my experience of a vocal tic, mute spells and a stammer caused by PTSD from domestic abuse. Domestic abuse and family court trauma have aftershocks in the body and brain, but this doesn’t have to hold survivors back. I hope that my imagery will inspire other women to know they can achieve anything and that, however hard things get as a result of trauma and stigmatisation, everyone has value.

Autobiography and Painting
Emily Owens & Daria Efitime
In this exhibition, Eftimie and Owens display paintings that feel like home to them, and they invite you in as welcome guests. Both artists find they engage with parts of themselves that they don’t in everyday life when they are painting, resulting in the works on show being intimate reflections of often-unseen elements of their identities. These paintings are their ways of visualising the chaos and fluidity that comes with human identity, and the exhibition gives viewers the opportunity to honestly see Eftimie and Owens as they were when the paintings on display were being created.
