How Cliik Community is Funded
At Cliik Community, we’re proud to be a Community Benefit Society based in North Stonehouse, Plymouth, dedicated to making a positive impact in our local area. Our funding comes from a mix of generous support, allowing us to carry out our important work.
One of our main sources of funding is grant support from various trusts and organisations. We’re particularly grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund, which has been a core supporter of our initiatives. Additionally, we’ve received backing from other wonderful organisations, including the Sovereign Network Group (SNG), the Arnold Clark Community Trust, Plymouth Community Homes, and Plymouth City Council, among others.
Donations from individuals also play a vital role in our funding. We truly appreciate the generosity of our community members, and anyone interested in supporting us can donate easily through the link on our website. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference!
Alongside grants and donations, we also raise funds through our trading activities, especially from our popular venture, The Talk Shop. This not only helps us generate income but also fosters a sense of community and connection.
Looking to the future, we have exciting plans to expand our funding sources. We aim to introduce share offers and a membership option, allowing more people to be a part of our mission. This financial growth will help us achieve some of our bigger dreams, like acquiring property to establish community-owned, affordable housing in the neighbourhood.
By providing stable and affordable accommodation, we believe we can create a lasting positive impact. Our vision of community-owned housing aims to benefit everyone by establishing a circular economy, where profits are reinvested back into the local area, helping it grow and thrive.
