Imagine an environmentally sustainable community housing project in the heart of Stonehouse!

There is an opportunity to test a sustainable business model for renovating solid wall terraced houses in North Stonehouse to offer 70% reduced fossil fuel use, using 70% reused materials and 70% local labour. It would be financed from a community share issue, with costs reduced by generating co-benefits which meet stakeholder needs. The first property would be a local and national exemplar. The model would be replicated across North Stonehouse, as part of an area-wide neighbourhood renewal programme which could include, electric vehicle pop up kerb charging points, communal vegetable gardens, fruit tree planting and community food-buying co-operatives.

We are currently working on the details to launch our first share issue giving local people a chance to be involved in the transformation project.
